Why should I take part?
The Rigging Awareness Training Course has been designed to give everyone who has contact with rigging a better understanding of rigging hardware from shackle to motor to truss, and its correct application and capacity.
The course offers something for all skill levels, from technicians who work solely on the ground but should have an understanding of what goes on overhead, to venue staff who need to be sure that any rigging in their venue is carried out correctly and safely, to actual riggers who are responsible for the safe installation of the equipment... and everyone in between!
How long is the Course?
The course runs over two consecutive days, with a split between 'classroom style' training, and practical 'hands-on' sessions.
What’s in it?
Modules covered in the programme include:
• Regulations, Approved Codes of Practice and Standards
• Personal Protective Equipment types and applications
• Hardware application, baskets, bridles, etc
• Truss and hoists
• Motor anatomy
• Good and bad practice
• Practical working.
Apart from tuition, what will I get?
Participants will receive ample training materials in the shape and form of their own copy of PSI’s Rigging Manual and a Certificate of Attendance, which outlines all modules taken, as well as refreshment and light lunches during the two days.
